What teachers, parents,  unschoolers & group leaders have to say about the Inquiry Learning Activity Guide:

"I have read the novel twice before as a read aloud with other classes. This time, we did several of the activities and the kids got so much more out of the book. They had higher level questions as well as learned more about dogs, their natural behaviour and what rescues do. They enjoyed the hands-on aspect and the variety of activities too. We were able to tap into their own experience with dogs and this made their experience with the book so much richer. Thank you for including opportunities to use technology as we have been encouraged to use it more to teach.
I must tell you, two boys really surprised me during one of the activities. They were asked if the adoption agency should have adopted Squirrel to the family and provide reasons why or why not. Most of the class though they should have, but two of the boys (who normally don't participate or write much) were quite emphatic that they would be a bad family to adopt to and showed critical thinking skills with fantastic reasons why not. After they shared, the rest of the class changed their minds and agreed with them. Thank you so much for letting me see what these students are capable of! I can't wait to see what other resources you will develop!" C. Hampson Gr. 4 Classroom Teacher Saskatchewan, Canada

"I used many of the 21 games with my after school parks and recreation kids. They learned so much about dogs using the interactive activities. It was great having a fun theme the kids could relate to!"   L. Lawson Recreation Program Leader  Minnesoda

"Thanks for creating these games! As a dog trainer, it is great when I find fun ways to teach kids about dogs.  I find they learn better when the information is presented in the form of games and activities. It has given me new ideas for programs I can use to teach kids about dogs! Can you create more?"

"Playing these games with the children helped them to appreciate the social and physical environment of the arctic. They were amazed at the types of activities the Inuit did to stay active over the winter."

"My students enjoyed trying these games and it really helped them understand the Inuit's close link to their environment. The thick mats we used made it fun to fail!"

"Loved the format of these games! I let the more advanced students read the cards and teach the others in their group how to play. They had fun with them!"

"We used several of these activities with our Brownie unit and they loved them! Thanks for putting them together and making them accessible!"

"My homeschool kids loved these! I appreciated that they were suitable for a variety of ages. Do you have other activity cards on different themes?"
